MobileMe email scam spreads like wildfire

If you are an old MobileMe subscriber, you must have got one of these emails, and if you are not really tech savvy enough to make out the difference between a legit email and a scam, you would have even replied to this. But now, if you have not yet, time to wake up readers.

The MobileMe email scam has been spreading like anything from the last few days and already a lot of people have have fallen victim for this. You will get an email telling you that your MobileMe drive has been infected by virus and the service people will need your password to set this right.

But do not give your password away, this is not at all legit and will open up the whole of your MobileMe, now iCloud account to the hackers, or spammer. You will find the email that you are supposed to get below. This is one of the emails that one MobileMe subscriber has got from a spammer.

So be careful, do not reply to this. Just delete the email and get back to your work without worry.

A DGTFX Virus has been detected in your MobileMe folders. Your email account has to be upgraded to our new Secured DGTFX anti-virus 2011 version to prevent damages to our web mail log and to your important files. Click your reply tab, Fill the columns below and send back to us or your email account will be terminated to avoid spread of the virus.
